Activities
Fyrfad is not only about volleyball, it's also about fun! A lot of fun! Fyrfad organises a bunch of activities like a weekend for all members of Fyrfad.
17 and 18 September - Training weekend
This weekend is organized to get to know your teammates on a sporting level and to get used to each other during games. The, in total 4, trainings are alternated by teambuild-activities and game tutorials when necessary.
We hope this weekend is fun but most of all profitable. Make sure you are available this weekend!
Members day:
During our annual members day we go on a trip. Examples from last year are a theme park or a city like Brussels. This is organised by our workgroup and takes place at the end of our season.
Members weekend:
The members weekend takes place somewhere in the beginning or f the season. Together we will go to a location outside Maastricht. Here we will have several activities, a campfire and we sleep together.
Gala:
Every year a small workgroup of enthousiast people organises a gala for the members of Fyrfad and its friends which can come to the gala as a kind of 'date' of the Fyrfad members. The Gala is a tremendous success and differs from year to year. This year it will be end february in a special location with wonderful music.
You should not miss it, find a date, dress up and become gala-queen/king of the year 2012 ;)
Tournaments:
Fyrfad organizes several tournaments a year some of them are open and some are internal, but all of them are a lot of fun. Perhaps our most famous tournament is the open Night tournament, where you volleyball all night long. It takes place in December and there is always a special theme to which you should dress up.
Inkom:
Every year Fyrfad organises several activities during the INKOM. You can check the programme at our special INKOM page
Walking Dinner:
Fyrfad organises two Walking Dinners during the year for its members. One is held during the WIE-period in September and the other one is half way around March. Walking Dinner means that you will get a partner for the evening with whom you will have starters and main course at someone's else place. So, some people have to cook and offer their own place for that evening. You will have the different courses at different places with about 6 different people. The only thing you stick to that night, is your partner. After the main course, all the people who joined that activity will come together to have desert and to stay for a drink. You should not miss this activity, which is a lot of fun and which help you to get to know some people even better.
Cantus:
Once a year Fyrfad organizes together with its favourite student soccer association in Maastricht (DBSV Redsocks) an open Cantus. Which means drinking beer, singing songs and having a lot of fun. Since 2011 Stennis has joined us, and the cantus is accessible for all members of every studens sports' assocation.
